Moposite.com payments ?

Post by dz »

I heard abula saying they gotta pay more soon cuz the traffic is way above the "limit" they have. I think i heard something like limit being 266MB/day, and moposite's current bandwith 800MB/day, thats umm.. quite alot.
So just for everyone's intrest, and clearing this thing, im asking abula/pexi explain a little about the domain www.moposite.com , what are payments, traffic limits, current traffics, how do you pay them (per year/half/month?), etc, etc?

Have a look at http://www.sigmatic.fi/palvelut/hosting.php . Moposite uses the Sigmatic 200 package. Yet we had to order more space, that 400MB wasn't enough. Officially the traffic limit seems to be 8GB/month that is about 270MB per day. Stats show that our traffic is about 10-20GB per month. The "greatest" day so far seems to be last mon or tue, traffic on that day having been about 865MB.

Payments:
moposite.com domain takes 20e in a year. That Sigmatic 200 packet is 14e in a month but it's not that simple. 200MB more space is 3e more to pay. By advertising Sigmatic on our page we get 3e lowering. Also we chose to pay once in a year instead of once in every 3 month and therefore we got still a bit cheaper. So after all it's 140e in a year + 20e for domain, currently.

Update:

Post by Abula »

27 October 2002: 1087650kB (1062MB) traffic in a day.

October's average traffic per day was 770554kB (752MB) so soon we have to pay more I think. If all stuff were under Sigmatic the traffic would be over 1.5GB in a day for sure, now all replays and most MP3s are in different servers.

Average number of visits in October: 1115 and max 1421.

Maybe PeXi could answer better to this but I think the sponsors in left give about $100-150 in a year (though we have had them less than one year now). The image banner doesn't give much currently because it works only for users from USA, Australia etc. not from Finland, Sweden and so on.

Everything is better than nothing but as you wish.

Not trusting to snail mail is a bit senseless because when sending money to Moposite you have already lost them :].

this is my one bit of criticsm

i read the news of moposite just b4 and it told of ramone donating money to moposite, which is very nice of him,
however i was dissapointed to see that the donaters are listed according to the amount they donated, this i do not agree with, it like judging people as to how much they donate and not for just donating, i personally think that these should be put into chronological order,
some may agree with me some may not, i just dont like it

I think I agree. Bu tI understand why they have it like they have. I think cause they want more ppl to donate, am I wrong?

Cronological order is better.

And you can get special envelopes if you are afraid money will get lost.

nah i think, that if it putting it in donation size order may stop people from donating caus they dont want it to be made obvious that they could or couldnt make a donation the size of others, and by putting it like it is, it sorta makes it into a sub conscious competition, im not saying that abula has done it this way for that reason at all, i kno that i look at that and read it as a competition sorta thing and we shouldnt be doing that consciously or sub consciously, more emphasis should be put into thanking people for donating, and by putting it in chronological order i think you acheive this beta

sorry if this was confusing or repeatative

Done. Though it doesn't matter much because people will sort the list by size anyway in their mind, especially when there are only this less people, wink wink ;].

Maybe even money amounts could be removed and put only total amount on the page. At least if the donaters want so.
