Huge new website, ANB Pack released + pipe & battle pack

Post by FW »

Hello there.

I'd like to announce that the new levelpack, "A New Beginning" just has been published through my new website http://tinyurl.com/yz6ak9

The "A New Beginning" (ANB) pack has been under a long time of producing. Half a year ago I started designing the levels.

Today their here in this new levelpack, which i see as a quality pack.
NOTE that in the ANB pack, some levels (6-7) are build from my older packs, although there is a huge difference between those in the old packs and the new editions. The rest are absolutely new levels.
The pack consist of 35 quality levels.

On the website i have made a lot of tables, so that you won't get bored playing the packs. These tables are:
- WR tables
- Total Time tables
- Kinglists
- Top 10's for each level
- Replays
As you can see, thats pretty much to compete about.

The ANB pack is not the only pack published though. I also published my old "Battle On" pack which is my #Battle levels. Again, all the same tables for the ANB pack is avaible for the BO.

Last but not least I have published a Pipe pack, Again, all the same tables for the ANB- and the BO pack is avaible for the "FW Pipe Pack" or "FWPP".

Oh, sorry, that wasn't last. I have made a Submit times php form with the help of Kopaka.
This will help you submitting times instead of emailing me with your times which is a timesaver for both of us. Although your times will first get on the site on Mondays just as if you emailed me!

I hope you will play the ANB pack since ive been making this for half a year and I have set big expectations because of the hard work behind it.

Feedback wanted in this threat, and please submit your times, its so easy with the php form!

Enjoy the packs and the site!

again, this is the url to the site: http://tinyurl.com/yz6ak9

This is made with respect for www.grafopoint.com which i have taken elements from!

Enil/8-ball: Why don't u focus on the levels instead of that crap? ;)
Don't like the levels? Don't play them, as simple as that my friends

EDIT: Hmm this is weird TJ, i don't see any uploads from you at the site. Try uploading again, or send them to my mail fwelma@hotmail.com.

Thank you enil, I appreciate it

TJ: Got the records ;) Gonna upload right away, but you forgot to mention wether your replays can be shared or not. I will not share them with the public unless you tell me to ;)

One more thing, you forgot to upload .lev file for ANB27! I know its a pain in the ass, but i really need these when calculating kinglists and total times (levstats, etc), therefore i will not update the time before the .lev file are sent to me, but all your other records will be updated in a moment, of course!

Good design
ok playability
too hoyla
obvious styles
too loopish
many ALP and some old Behk levs ripoffs

You should spend more time working on the lev itself instead of focusing only on design.
Not bad pack, but if you make one nowadays you can't expect too much players.

Thx for feedback!

I wouldn't say many ripoffs, but it's true, i have taken a lot of inspiration, especially from you yourself, Behk and Zebra. And then of course the ALP.
Yes, there is elements from ALP, especially the start in ANB29, and some things in ALP28, and just overall, but i hope you didn't feel this was a ripoff pack.

I will work on making the styles more secret, but im not sure if my creativity is big enough for the job.
Im sure there are a few styles which are hidden a bit away in some of the levels, but i completely agree, mostly of these styles are very obvious and maybe even more "Battle level" than to a levelpack.

Again, thanx for feedback. I will definetly work on making levels, but to repeat myself; im not sure if my creativity is big enough ;)

I like the levs :)
Yes, good design. The remind me of internals, which isn't bad thing.
Most levs are good, but there are some not-so-fun levs.
Anyway, max pro site and work overall.

Are you looking for new team ;)

Really nice levels, FW. I downloaded the pro pipe replays and as usual I am stunned. I consider myself a moderately good piper, but when I see that intense switching I'm just baffled - do you just mash the button at random or do you actually think about every switch before performing it?

you tend to get a feel for it after playing pipe levels for a while. just as in elma in general you dont think about each specific move you make, so too in pipes you don't think about each volt or space

You uploaded a record, but you called the lev file: "BO0032.lev".
The real name of lev is BO003.lev.

Have you edited the level since you uploaded with other name? I will not update your time when you upload another .lev

EDIT: I see you did teh with any lev you uploaded?
