Server needed again!!!

Post by milagros »

ok balle elma is already running and quite many players (50 bmps or smth)
the only problem is that we don't have windows server
we should have used zerox's one, but he doesnt have any anymore
current server is running on zworqy's comp and that was supposed to be only temporary solution

SO ANYONE HAS THE WINDOWS SERVER???
(or anyone can ez rewrite the windwos code to linux? should not be a problem)

one stupid question.. can't moposite host it?
i mean it can be run in linux same way as let's say elma and it doesn't need any special stuff (directx or so)

I think moposite is hosted on a rather restrictive server, meaning basically only http and ftp ports are open, i know that abula have had enough trouble just having minor things changed in the apache setup.

Besides, doesn't it need some sort of graphic window-ing system to work? I doubt many linux-based servers have that installed.

progam can be easily changed not to have any graphic window, there is only one 'memo' with some comments, that can be sent to stdout
its not really any problem to recompile into linux nowadays but in the future will be (mysql, irc)

Yea, Moposite is running in a web-hotel. We can't really affect to features of it (only a little bit). Would be coal to have own though but too expensive.

Not that I'm against it but I think we can't help.
