I dont know but, I think it's very annoying as well. On second thought, no it can't be correct. It's simply too annoying to 'pause' there.

i've always thought it was the right way to ponctuate a sentence. I'll go do some reseach now just to be sure you are right.

And no, i won't do any butt jokes.

Rule 12. Use a comma to separate two strong clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction--and, or, but, for, nor. You can omit the comma if the clauses are both short.

Examples: I have painted the entire house, but he is still working on sanding the doors.
I paint and he writes.
Well, i was apparently wrong but it seems the comma can be used in these kinds of sentences, but in front of the word "but".
