Good job for Hamilton, but bad position for Kubica & Button. Both should be on first line.
2, 3 for Red Bastards
No crashes :(

1st place for McLaren... But why wasnt it Buttons McLaren? 2nd place isnt bad, but 1st is better
Why Kubica is only 7th? Should be much higher.
Red Bitches too high as always.
And great job for our commentetor :) The best comments ever :D

Webber lucky to be alive, Vettel wins. Brilliant/exciting end by Koboyashi, what a star. He drove his heart out the whole race.

I dont like Webber much, but its good, that nothing happend to him. It could be really dangerous.

Vettel wins :/ Button not so bad, 3rd, Kubica 5th (behind Barichello  )
Intersting race, and good commentators job

i totally fucking agree... the element of tactics was lowered almost to 0 when banning refuelling :/ though banning tyre changing during the race was even more stupid, fortunately withdrawn after one season
there are supposed to be some megamajor rule changes in 2012 referring to everything, from engines to refueling etc

I don't know the rules nowadays since I don't watch it anymore, but I think you can only welcome things that causes less pitstops. That was one of the reasons I stopped watching, it was all about the fucking pit stops.

you're not right Kopa, many tracks (like half of the total 19) are pretty narrow, and overtaking is very hard there. then almost the only overtaking that takes place during the races is doubling the guys from the back of the grid. example: in the last race alonso (clearly faster, even if he'd had a bad day) was unable to pass some noob petrof
when there were many pitstops (depending on the strategy - 1 to 3 (or 0?????)) races were horribly exciting cuz basically anything could happen. nowadays people stop once at the same time and then just driveeeeeeee, almost the only situations in which the grid from qualifications might change is 1) chaotic start 2) dif. times of pitting. apart from that its just driving, very rarely overtaking in the front

i have understood the problem is the back wings and turbulent air killing your downforce when driving behind another car, because of that you never get the same curve leaving speed as the car in front and can not catch on the straights. well, one of the many problems anyway

Tracks are really ass-wide nowdays, it's extremely definetly not the problem (expect in Monaco etc), the first problem is that they are too easy so you can drive close to the limit without having to fear for crashing because there are just asphalt safety areas outside => all equally good cars drive with the same speed all the time and you can't pass. It's different in Spa which is actually narrow but you easily crash there so nabs have to take it easy often and then pros can pass you.

The other problem is that cars's aerodynamics are designed to create turbulences to interrupt the cars behind you. FIA tried to change this by making the cars look like incredibly stupid but somehow it didn't help.

The reason there is no overtaking this season is that every car has a double diffuser, which produces dirty air to such a great degree that no matter how good your car is, if you get within a second of the car in front, you are slowed down like crazy.

Since 2013 there will be 1.6L 4 cylinder engines instead of current 2.4L V8s. Rev limit will be decreased from the current 18.000rpm to 12.000rpm. The new engines are expected to provide the same level of performance while reducing the fuel consumption by 35 per cent.

New rules for the 2011 already known, the most important ones are the removal of the ban on team orders, outlawing of double diffusers, introducing driver-adjustable rear wings and re-intruducing the intermediate tyres (they will join the current dry and wet ones).

I remember asking SveinR for renaming this to simply "Formula 1" but seems he didn't manage.

The 2011 season is now open! The Qualifying session for Australian Grand Prix has passed already with Vettel winning the pole position by almost 0,8s before Hamilton. Vettel's team-mate Webber arrived third before Jenson Button. From this season the 107% rule has been reintroduced. Drivers who does not get times below 107% of the leader's time in Q1 will not qualify for the race. Hence none of the HRT drivers (Liuzzi and Karthikeyan) will race tomorow. You can find full results here:
Formula 1 2011 Australian Grand Prix Qualifying results
The race starts tomorow (27th March) at 8am mid-european time (7am GMT).

I doubt I'll see you but I'm glad you'll be there :) I hope I can manage to a race once too.
And even though I wish all the best to Button, I would be pretty happy if Webber won. He never did (no australian ever won Australian GP :( ) and he's obviously a great driver. Would be nice if he finally managed to achieve that :)
Anyway, could anybody win, pleease, instead of Vettel? :(

I loved the race itself, it was pretty thrilling! Especially in the 4-8 zone with Ferraris messing around :o I'm angry about Vettel, obvious reason. Also sad about Webber, I wished he won. Pretty annoyed with Button's screwing start and screwing overtaking Massa, he could've been even 3rd :(
More races like this pls!
And megagrats to Perez, hell! First race in F1 and he manages to drive the entire race on two sets of tires and finishes 7th! amazing guy!

@Pawq

Indeed race was great, as always on that track, but I didn't like 2 things. Firstly, Ferrari was disappointing. Secondly one certain driver decided to become average rally driver instead of start F1 driver. I'm fan of him and I know he is big talent, but what he did was useless. Especially knowing 2011 Renault is madly fast. Ehhhh :(

I was neither surprised nor irritated by Ferrari's bad condition. I don't like Alonso for his behaviour on track and everybody knows that Massa is just slow. I have no bloody idea how he is still in Ferrari
Kubica? I totally agree. And not only am I disappointed with his will to rally, but also with the team's decision to allow him to do that. Formula 1 is surely by far the safest motor sport, F1 drivers are looked after as nobody (just recall Webber's accident from the last season in which he flew a few meters in the air, landed upside down and smashed into a concrete wall at a speed of 200kmph. He didn't have a single scratch). Why squander that care and let a driver rally in a home-made rally of actually very poor safety quality? I have no idea and I am pissed off with the team's irresponsibility (one could blame Kubica but he's just a driver, mad one to be honest, and the team should be responsible for him).

Yeah massa is slow now, and hopefully Kubica recovers, he has the skills to be a future world champ.

Seems like in a few years from now it will be Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton, Perez, Petrov vying for the world championship.

Aussie driver Craig Lowndes drove an F1 car this weekend also. General consensus of McLaren team was that if he had gone into F1 10 years ago like he was training to do he'd be a world champion by now.

vettel, hamilton, kubika. the rest are just nabz. It's like mika salo said, if petrov gets on podium, the car must be really good. I am ready to swallow my words anytime if petrov can prove me wrong! I watched the entire australian GP anyways and it felt more interesting than last year. Though, reason might be that last year I was still trying to recover from santander buying kimi off ferrari

3 Star world champions in Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton. Meant to say Kubica, not Petrov. These Poles and ruussians, all the same Pawqeh ;P jk

I am extremely eager to see tomorow's quali and sunday's race. So far everything says it's going to be a really thrilling race. The thunderstorms predicted, the heat, the tyres, the long straights, red bull's kers (and kers overall)... Let's see how it works out! I hope mclaren and lotus will be as competitive as possible. I also hope that the eventual rain won't spoil the quali or bring the race to a halt :/ lets wait until sunday, good luck everyone! :p

EDIT:
Now that was a qualification!!! All top4 drivers to make their times over a minute after the session deadline and all fit into 0,4s, with 5th Alonso almost a second behind :D Looks like the battle between McLaren and Red Bull could be really thrilling, I hope the british will get the most of it :/ I'm a bit disappoint with Button, he somehow never can find the quali pace :/
bloody Vettel -.- pls someone assassinate him ;/

EDIT2:
hell, if all the races this season will look like the past 2 - omagad! o,o freaking amazing race, so many battles overtaking and sach o,o and uber drive by Button in the last stint, almost nobody done this number of laps on one set of tires, while Button gained over 20s over Hamilton/Heidfeld and almost 10s to Vettel during 15 laps :O
Hamilton was extremely unlucky, too bad fucking spaniard drove in his ass. But i don't like him anyway so no big loss.
It seems that Renault have really an outstanding vehicle at the moment, able to strongly compete with Ferrari o,o I have to admit that I'm a little bit surprised by that, and very glad too, can't hide that!
Mercedes rolling out to battle with Sauber and Force India, which is quite a shame considering the fact that they (well, most of them) won the world championship as Brawn GP two years ago.
Webber did a fantastic race too :O after a disastrous start fell to 9th position, pitted 4 times while almost all the others pitted only 3, and still finished 4! Many best lap times, really an outshining drive.
As for Vettel... well, regardless of my attitude towards him, it looks like he really has caught the rythm now :/ not very dominant though, and I hope he will not be any time in the future.
I believe that the sudden increase in the amount of emotions delivered occured at least partly due to tire provider change. As expected, Pirelli -> less durability -> more pit stops -> more thrill :) I hope that all the future races will look like that too :)
And no rain during entire weekend, yeah!

EDIT3:
What's most unsettling is the fact that Red Bulls managed to pull such pace without the use of KERS, which they still haven't managed to work reliably :/

Nice drive by Webber considering. Heidfeld stunning. Hamilton sucks.
