Re: Saveload WR table
Recs pls. Atleast one rec to prove your times.
Re: Saveload WR table
Why would he simply start lying about his times all of a sudden? New better tools have been released since then > better times are now appearing on the table.
Tag would be a very wild claim if it wasnt true.

Re: Saveload WR table
Also, the previous known Tag sl time was 20,23 by zweq, driven with styles and moves that aren't easy or obvious by themselves and leave a lot of room for possible possibilities possibly. The bounces in it also are not even near to bugs or borderline bugs, which also leaves some room for improvement, not saying Madik's rec has "buggier" bounces.
Really impressed by the time though, there must be something worth seeing in the rec, once again proving how amazing stuff can be done. Would love to see the rec just like any other internal-lover, but it's always complicated to give stuff away.

Re: Saveload WR table
Mad did send me all of his recs (altho i wanted to see only 08 ) and i can verify there is no bugs but very hoyled times at least, and yes they are real.
Re: Saveload WR table
Very nice times.
Or maybe labs is included in this cult of epic times that don't exist. We'll never know!

Re: Saveload WR table
If that's the case, I want to be included in that cult too
Re: Saveload WR table
It would be awesome to make a video of all replays now that every Internal is beaten with SL!
I can make the video if no one else wants to, would be a fun next project.
If everyone wants to share their replays that is. I am willing to share my record atleast.

Re: Saveload WR table
I don't really see how that tricks abound trick is even possible
Re: Saveload WR table
Good luck with that!culinko wrote:I knew that one day the WR in tag will be under 20. The only thing to do now is to drive legit time
I've already thought of this for a long time and yes, there certainly needs to be an SL EDQ. I even made some intros for the video already and picked a few awesome songs that can't be missing in there and stuff. I think if there is going to be a video, it can't be just any video. It needs to be extremely high quality stuff that will surpass all videos that have ever been released, it needs to be better than any other EDQ, it needs to reach the quality of those recs of mine that will shine in there, it needs to be SMASHING. After a lot of thinking and discussing this with many people, we've come to the conclusion that I should be the one to take charge of this.Bjenn wrote:It would be awesome to make a video of all replays now that every Internal is beaten with SL!

However, don't except this to happen anytime soon, because there are a few problems that need to be dealt with first (sorted according to their seriousness, low to high):
1) Some times are just too bad.
- Solution: Someone needs to beat them.
2) Hand animations in some recs are bugged and apples don't disappear.
- Solution: If people have the .dat file, they can autoplay it, otherwise someone will have to beat all those times.
3) Some people might not want to share their recs.
- Solution: I will beat their times and use my recs.
4) There are some super secret styles that even I can't share.
- Solution: Wait until I get permission to use these or rather wait until the next regular EDQ is released first.
Re: Saveload WR table
Is the hand\apple stuff impossible to fix by editing the file? Really even mila can't do it?
Re: Saveload WR table
5) bounce problem - someone will have to draw the line
for example that tag was ez 19.xx with bounces around the limit
for example that tag was ez 19.xx with bounces around the limit

Re: Saveload WR table
I don't exploit the "min distance from the centre" bug, instead I went for hoyling the level properly and saving a few milliseconds in every part of the lev, plus I found a better move somewhere. There's nothing in Tag even remotely close to "around the limit". I don't keep a track of how long I spend hoyling each, but I know that Steep Corner took me 7.5 hours in a row and that's an easy one, so therein lie my times.milagros wrote:5) bounce problem - someone will have to draw the line

i am not saying your rec contains anything like that, but i'm saying it can be beaten with such bounceMadness wrote:I don't exploit the "min distance from the centre" bug, instead I went for hoyling the level properly and saving a few milliseconds in every part of the lev, plus I found a better move somewhere. before we knew with zweq how to bounce, we did lots of recs which looked perfectly clean - however, when we found out how does it work, we checked again, and old non-bug-exploited recs contained the same problem too (for example 39.99 downhill) - because you make it cleanest and fastest when you take advantage of the bug even if you dont know about it
anyway - there are levels where you have to bounce - hang tight for example, and the limit will have to be chosen

Re: Saveload WR table
That was just to set the record straight. Well yeah, it has always been a problem and I don't see a way to draw the line at this moment. It's safe to say that the lower min distance the rarer it is. But there are many other factors to it, velocity, angle, fps... Sometimes the min distance is not that low and you get a powerful bounce, sometimes it's 0.00xx and you don't even bounce no matter what you do, so I think the min distance itself or strength of the bounce don't say much and it's quite impossible to judge it by that. Then there are levels like Pipe where you have to "exploit" this bug in a way if you want to beat the best regular time, because the style requires it and has been officially accepted in regular playing. See the rec below, that's when I tried to beat Pipe with a bounce that I believe wouldn't look buggy for most eyes. It is simply impossible to beat the regular WR with that (unless FinMan knows something we don't).
The good thing is that nothing in this table is set in stone and if there happens to be a broad consensus that something should be excluded, it can always be.
I'm wondering what you were referring to in the Downhill, I didn't notice any strange/buggy bounces there. Did the min distance happen to be too low?
If you have any solution or suggestions on how to draw the line, it would be appreciated.

Re: Saveload WR table
Technically possible. The rec file contains a list of the time of volts and object-touches so you could manually make the list and add it to rec file. Wouldn't be 100% accurate and maybe faster to just beat time than manually editkuchitsu wrote:Is the hand\apple stuff impossible to fix by editing the file? Really even mila can't do it?

Re: Saveload WR table
btw why not the back wheel on the top like in my rec?
it is way harder, but not with sl:)

Re: Saveload WR table
This is the only thing I could do with that bounce. My WR is driven completely differently.
Re: Saveload WR table
Are you doing it with bare eyes and trivial merging?Madness wrote:instead I went for hoyling the level properly and saving a few milliseconds in every part of the lev, plus I found a better move somewhere.
Did somebody implement a patch which plays chosen rec in background while you are hoyling so that minimum difference is recognized maybe?
Re: Saveload WR table
Yes, there's no better way. I use the stop function too, to make a certain action at a certain time or to make two actions quickly one after the other.
Such a patch could only be useful for regular hoyling of large levels, definitely not for SL where pixels matter.

well I don't want this theory to be ridiculous, but if you check these:

The bounce for the longjump in the second rec is a bug.

even if it's a bug, or can't be done without a bug, still faster than all current styles we know i believe

i think it's clean enough, it's a very reproducible bounce, like seriously you can get somekind of bounce there probably 1/3 and some of those will be buggier and fly far enoughculinko wrote:The bounce for the longjump in the second rec is a bug.
