in germany it started last wekend...
i came home and saw maybe the last 10 minutes of the pilot-movie (is this the correct word?)... it appealed a lot to me, allthough it had the usual characters:
the kind and helpful spanish guy, the mysterious girl, the rambo hardcore evil guy who will surely become a nice guy in later episodes, the pregnant wife, the african guy.... fat pot smoker and so on....
but anyways, it was exciting, so i decided to watch the next episode:
i will never watch again....
wtf? they ruin this maybe great show by making it a pussy sob stuff shit, with all the fucking love storys and rescued dogs and FACK!!!
no doubt that there will be some action and horror in further episodes but all the shit that happens around can already be seen (love shit, birth of child blablabla) and thats way too much for me....
this is my very own opinion.

Lost is the greatest television series I've ever seen. Period.
And insane guy, you really, really should watch more of the episodes. The characters are far from "the usual", they are all VERY complex and all have extremely interesting background stories.

Maybe people could do that, but some people have inside information that tells something of what will happen in future episodes too, and might not distinguish between that kind of information and the information that only discusses what has been shown on TV. People should have to do that, at least. If you give some info as to what will happen, inside information that you have, not only mark it with SPOILER, but also make the typing white or something that's hard to read if one doesn't want to read it.Ky.Jelly wrote:maybe sveinr should add SPOILERS in the topic so we can discuss more without killing it for teh noabs

2. why do the people on the boat want walt?
3. who are the other people on the boat?
4. what will happen in season 2?
ok heres what i think
1. im not real sure on this one, could be anything i guess
2. because of his powers i think
3. the 'others' for sure
4. i have heard a lot of rumours, like the 3 lads in the water are washed up on the other side of the island and find more survivors! one of them is that chick jack met before getting on the plane, and also that chick who always thought her husband wasnt dead, hes there too.
also, for a season 2 trailer, visit http://www.oceanic-air.com and follow these steps:
1. go down to the 'travellers' bit where you can enter 5 numbers. In each, enter hurleys lotto numbers (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42) then click find.
2. a seating plan should come up, to watch the hidden trailer, click these numbers again in ascending order on the seating plan

OK, so I just rewatched the whole season while traveling to Florida. I noticed some interesting things and compiled a list of theories and observations for you guys to read. It's cool to rewatch the episodes after seeing the whole season. You notice a lot of hints and stuff that are layed early on and don't make sense until future episodes. cool stuff.
ok, so here's my list:
Locke is a lying bastard
Locke tells Sayid that he knocked him out and destroyed the transceiver because he didn't think it would be safe to go to the source of a message saying they're dead, it killed them all. This can't be the real reason he attacked Sayid, because at the time, Locke still hadn't found out about the message. A few days earlier, Charlie begins to mention the transmission but stops and changes the subject when Jack gives him a warning look. Locke didn't find out about the transmission until after he attacked Sayid which means that his motivation for the attack couldn't have been their safety.
The Hatch is Pandora's Box
When Hurley tells Leonard about using the numbers to win the lottery Leonard says that he shouldn't have done that and tells Hurley that he "opened the box." We later learn that these same numbers are inscribed on the outside of the hatch. Also, in the season finale, when Hurley asks what he thinks is inside the hatch, Locke tells him that he thinks hope is inside. In the story of Pandora's Box, one of the things that comes out of the box is the spirit of hope.
Locke knows about Walt's powers
When Michael confronts Locke about teaching Walt to hunt, Locke tells him that Walt is different and that while they're on the island, he should be allowed to realize his full potential. We don't find out about Walt's special powers until later in the episode so it's not until a second viewing that you can understand Locke's true meaning.
The Swarm
A few people noticed the odd shape the smoke takes and the almost intelligent way it moves as it pours out of the hole after Kate throws the dynamite in after the monster. This actually isn't the first time we see a weird smoke like swarm. Right before the monster appears, about forty three and a half minutes in to the episode when we see a bird flying from the trees in fear, Jack and Kate look into the jungle and see a strange shadowy swarm moving through it. Jack looks at Kate and Kate says, "Yeah. I saw it." The first time I saw the scene I thought it was just a bird's shadow, but if you watch it again you'll see that it's actually billowing like smoke. It moves very quickly and never rises, just zips horizontally across the screen almost like a snake or an eel swimming through water... which is sort of unnatural for smoke. Pretty creepy.

-16 years ago Leonard and his navy co-hort who had been on duty stationed in a listening post in the Pacific. One night they had heard a vocal transmission after a prolonged period of static. These numbers (4 8 15 16 23 42) brought bad luck on both Leonard and his friend. Danielle Rousseau and her team had heard the same transmission at the same time (16 years ago) on their ship, crashing them on the island - which was the point of origin for the transmission.

Re:
Bleh. Have been watching plenty of Lost during the holidays, and I did indeed create some theories of my own.
Since season 4 was the one I watched latest, I'll start with a season 4 finale theory. So if you havn't watched til the end of season 4 yet, don't read this.
Also, I just finished writing this, and I noticed it's a quite long post (for being Lauta, anyway), so I might as well warn you about that too, if you're one of those tldr people.
Now, the first theory is not that big, concerning only one character. The second one however is more of a "general" theory about "everything".
SPOILER WARNING
theory 1:
Did Jin really die? I'm pretty sure he didn't. We find out that Charlotte speaks korean, and we also know that she stays on the island. Now, since Sun made it back, there's no reason for her to speak korean unless Jin will make it back to the island?
Another thing, when the freighter explodes, there's a shot from above, in which you can clearly see that no one is standing where Jin was a couple of seconds before. He could have jumped off the freighter easily, and he probably did, since he knew it was going to blow up. Then he might have been knocked out by some debris, which explains whey they can't see any movement in the water from the chopper.
Now, a perhaps stupid and far-fetched "argument", or perhaps a max clever one: I was listening to the audio commentary by Damon and Carlton for the season finale. At one point Damon mentions the fact that Jin is dead, and Carlton adds "Or is he..?". Now, using that alone for an argument is just stupid. But later, after the freighter blows up, we see Suns reaction, and they talk about it. And at one point Carlton says "She thinks that her husband is dead". Knowing that Carlton is a person who indeed knows whether Jin is dead or not, and hearing him say "She thinks he's dead (cause they can't see him from the chopper), now that, to me, is quite interesting. So I'm fairly sure that Jin's still alive, but I don't think Sun knows that.
Theory 2:
Now a theory which I have been "working on" for quite some time. as the show develops many parts of the theory have been proven to be false, but I've still managed to repair or replace them. It doesn't have much to do with season 4, but you have to have seen seasons 1 through 3. I can sum it up in one word: Jacob.
Now, we all know what Jacob says to Locke when he's about to leave the cabin: "Help me". Remember this, because it's like the punch line in this theory. But here goes:
First of all, why did the plane crash? Well, we're pretty sure it's because of the electromagnetic build-up in the swan station. (Remember the papers Locke finds in "?", which he then gives to Desmond, who discovers that on the exact date of their planecrash, he got the system failure thingy.) And imagine a really powerful electromagnetic field - it might just be able to knock out the electronics in a plane, and also drag the entire plane towards it.
Now, what a coincidence, that both Desmond and Kelvin left the hatch at that exact time, and went so far away from it that desmond, despite killing kelvin so quickly, had trouble making it back in time. I'll get back to this later.
First of all, I believe Kelvin was a member of the others, not the Dharma initiative. Why would the others leave a Dharma Initiative member in the hatch, which they did indeed know about, alone, whilst killing all the other members? I think Kelvin is kinda like Mikhail, who's also guarding a station alone. Only, along came Desmond, and for some reason they let him stay with Kelvin.
Anyway, we know the others have contact with the Swan, which they then use to trick Michael, "disguised" as Walt, into trying to rescue Walt. I believe the also used the computer to communicate with Kelvin as well.
Now, this might sound far-fetched at first, but it'll make more sense towards the end:
Like I said before, that the chance of Desmond and Kelvin both leaving at the same time by coincidence, for a time long enough to make the system fail is slim, which is why I think it wasn't a coincidence at all. I believe Kelvin was informed, via the computer, to cause the system to fail, and to do this he had to lure Desmond out with him, (so he doesn't press the button) and make sure he followed him. This is also the reason he heads for the boat, even though he knows Desmond is following (which we know for a fact). He knows that something bad is gonna happen when that electomagnetic fields builds up, so he's gonna leave the island.
Anyway, Desmond kills Kelvin so quickly he makes it back in time to enter the numbers, and reset the time, but the damage is already done. The plane crashes.
Now, why would they tell Kelvin to make the electromagnetic field build up on purpose? Well he get's the orders from Ben, who in turn gets them from Jacob. Now why would Jacob want the plane to crash on the island? I'll get to that soon.
Now, ever since the show started, people have been seeing other people who arn't really supposed to be there. Jack sees his father, who in turn helps him to find the caves, and water, helping them survive. Locke sees Walt when he's dying, but walt helps him survive as well. Locke also sees Horace chopping down trees, who then helps him find the cabin. Anyway, it seems that these people who "are not supposed to be there", helps the people on the island.
Now, when Locke visits the cabin, Jacob is invisible. But I think he's invisible only because he hasn't chosen a "shape". I think Jacob can assume the shape of any person, such as Christian Sheprad, Walt, Horace, Dave, etc. But when he doesn't choose a shape, well, then he has no shape, which leaves him invisible.
But then you ask the question: why would Jacob help the oceanic survivors? Why does Jacob want them to survive? Why would Jacob help John Locke?
This is the beautiful part: Remeber what Jacob told John when he was about to leave? "Help me"!
Jacob helped Locke survive, so that he in turn could help Jacob! This is why the mysterious people appearing have been so helpful. They were all Jacob, helping the survivors, so that they in turn could help him.
SPOILER WARNING ENDS HERE
Yeye, you might not agree one bit with these theories, but it's all I've got so far. Please comment and leave counter-arguments if that's the case, or perhaps give additional arguments supporting the theories, if you have any.
Also, please share your own theories. I love discussing them, but I'm not a member of any lost forum, but I do know there are several people here who watch Lost, so don't be shy :>
Another reason as to why I revived this topic is that season 5 is coming up! So if you are watching lost and havn't watched all episodes yet, hurry up and watch them, if you want to be able to discuss season 5 with us. Trust me, discussing episodes right after you have watched them with others greatly enhances the lost experience.

Mm. The only way to find the plane is to stop looking where it's supposed to be, and instead look where it's going to be..

Re: TV Show: Lost (dont read if you dont want spoilers)
any thoughts on the finale? is locke really dead or not? i believe he is, and the person acting as him has some super natural knowlede over the island, and simply a lot of revenge for this jacob.

Re: TV Show: Lost (dont read if you dont want spoilers)
Here's my theory on the man in black, from the opening scene
The man appearing as locke is obviously the man in black from the opening scene. I base this on the conversaion "locke" and JAcob had right before Ben killed(?) Jacob.
Have we seen any other, similar cases to this? Where a dead body was brought to the island, and all of a sudden it's there, alive as if reincarnated? As a matter of fact we have, and that person was Christan Shephard. He was brought in a coffin, dead, to the island, but when Jack found the coffin it was empty. Just before that he had seen Christian "alive".
Are there any other cases similar to Locke's and Christian's? Again, there are. Remember Yemi? He was Eko's brother, brought to the island in the beach-craft they used for smuggling drugs. He was shot before he entered the plane, so he was most likely dead when he got to the island - when the plane crashed.
Eko found his brother in this plane, but later on when he came back to visit him again, Yemi's body was gone. Seconds after that Eko saw Yemi, alive. "Yemi" led Eko away, and asked for his confession. When Eko refused to confess, "Yemi" "turned into" the smoke monster, and killed Eko.
So If Yemi is similas to Christian, seeing as both their dead bodies disappeard, and instead they appeared "alive", we could say that probably the same thing happened to them. And since Christan and Locke are similar as well, both brought to the island dead, both then living, we can say the same thing happened to them as well. And since the "reincarnated" Locke is the man in black, we can see that:
If Yemi = the smoke monster
and Yemi = Christian
Then Christan is the smoke monster as well.
And if Christian = Locke
and Locke = The man in black
Then The man in black is the smoke monster as well.

Re: TV Show: Lost (dont read if you dont want spoilers)
hmm, very insightful igge! what is your theory on the story with jack, sawyer, and all those guys blowing up the whole damn island? will everything be brought back to normal for all of them? it seems to me they kind of fucked with space time continuum, if youve ever seen the movies of "back to the future", what jack and all them did was what the crazy scientist in back to the future was always trying to avoid. the classic example of the time paradox which jack and all the others has committed is similar to something like this, "a person travels back in time, kills his grandfather, erases his own existence-- and raises the question, if he never existed, how could he travel back in time to kill his grandfather?"
ill be curious to see where the writers of Lost go with this, or if theyll even bother touching up on the paradox at all.

Re: TV Show: Lost (dont read if you dont want spoilers)
Hmm, I dont know about that. The guy in the opening scene wanted to kill Jacob, and eventually did. He couldnt as himself
for some reason, but he found his loophole to get it done by channelling Locke. So those two are the same person in some way, and Yemi was the smoke monster, but I wouldnt say theyre all the same and definitely wouldnt add Christian in there too.
The smoke appears to people as someone close to them. Yemi to Eko, Alex to Ben, blah blah. But remember, Christian and Claire have both shown up in the cabin. Not sure what exactly, but the cabin has always been linked to Jacob. Jacob isnt the smoke monster. Ben said Jacob wasnt in the cabin, but the group who found the dead Locke went there as if they knew there was something special about it. There was that circle of gunpowder around it, which had been broken. My guess is that the cabin (and circle) was somehow to contain the man in black, likely set up by Jacob. Then when the circle was broken, he was allowed out and managed to kill him.
How the smoke ties into it, if it does at all, I dont know...
Prediction: I actually said this years ago, but I'll put it in writing now. Jack and Kate will die in the "fresh water" caves in 1977, and become the "Adam and Eve" skeletons they found in 2004.
Edit: Gimp, thats what they were saying theyd be doing. By blowing up the pocket of electromagnetism, theyd release it sooner and therefore wouldnt crash in 2004. But actually they caused the event that they were trying to avoid. Really to have changed history they should have stayed away, not used the bomb. Whatever happened, happened. They're doomed to repeat the past, and cause their own history.
