Mopolauta game tournaments

Post by User »

i had this idea for some time but wasnt sure if enough people are interested, well i decided to make a topic for it now at least.

the idea is to have tournaments on various online games, they could be simple ones, like turbosliders and soldat for example, or some old fps/strategy games. they would have to be games that most people can run and easily obtainable (ie, not too big games) and not to have excessive security stuff to prevent them from being played online with warez versions.
we could maybe have small teams against each other or just one vs one elimination tournaments. 1vs1 is good because then you can have pretty flexible schedules and dont need to gather many people at once

so post here if you are interested and suggest some games and comment others suggestions, soldat, trackmania and turbosliders are the first that came in my mind. maybe some minions too (online flash multiplayer game on casualcollective) those are all free and quite small in size, simple and fun

+1

But with the topic, I think hum... Age of Empires 2 but impsy and online gaming is fucked up on this game.
Maybe some Trackmania United if someone has got it (Nations = fucking crap).

cs 1.6: ofc! for those who have, but a problem would be lag if the competitors lives far far away from eachother..

In worst case ppl will have to download non-steam-CS and play through hamachi. Problem is everyone participating will have to do it since steam-CS cant play versus non-steam-CS (diff protocols and shit)

Anyway Björn, Igge and myself in same team ;p

I could play:
Quake Live
Turbo Sliders
Minions
Worms Armageddon
Soldat

Maybe some others too but likely won't bother unless it's a flash game.

If someone made an online version of Scorched Earth...
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

I'm in. But for example games like CS would be way too complicated to install and learn to play somewhat decently if you haven't tried them before. Games like liero and turbosliders sound really optimal. Also pretty much all Playray games are super easy just to start playing. I would recommend at least minigolf, billiards, cannons and area. It's nice environment to play those traditional games everyone know like tic-tac-toe, yatzy, mill and backgammon too. Also I'd like to mention GeneRally as a very hoylable little car game. I think it could be played like a battle - someone makes a level and then people try to hoyl the best time on that.

I hope this tournament gets a long life so that every game gets its try!

Btw, in the lieroX part, please for gods sake don't have it go in MW1.0 mortar combo, please let it go in some humane sets such as liero 1.0 100%lt non-combo or 20%lt rifles or some other nice 100%lt mod:P
