The Island (2005) : 6/10
Won't say anything about the story as there could be spoilers (which are weirdly enough on the DVD case). Going into the movie, the least you know about it, the more you'll enjoy. I don't really know what to say about this movie, it surely is one of Michael Bay's good movies while never reaching the status of a great movie. It's entertaining for sure, there's some good action, sufficiently intriguing plot and some good looking protagonists. Interestingly enough, this is the first movie where i really noticed product placement (Microsoft), it was somehow blatantly forced onto the viewer. Was amusing to me. Overall, a slightly above average action flick, a good rent.

I'm down to a solid 1 movie per week or sach and here we go again:

Despicable Me - 5/10
Somewhat entertaining although I watched the swedish 3D-version. Some very charming characters and a nice take on the story (for being a family movie), rooting for the bad guy as he's making quite a character arc. The minions are in most of the scenes that makes you laugh and they are what made the movie watchable imo. Vector (the bad "other bad guy") was very cliché and mostly just annoying. My rating is a quite generous 5. I'm sure it would've been higher with the original english voices.

I got my dvd rental "flatrate" (1 movie per day) again.
so far I got:

La strada Federico Fellini 1954
Gandhi Richard Attenborough 1982
Deliverance John Boorman 1972
Triangle Christopher Smith 2009
Deranged Jeff Gillen 1974

where La Strada was 10/10, Ghandi good, Deliverance okay with a nice feeling to it, Triangle blew my mind and Deranged was oki, too

Tekkonkinkreet (2006) : 9/10
So this is my fourth anime, after Spirited Away, Ponyo and Paprika, therefore my expectations were ridiculously high and somehow, the movie managed not to disappoint if not to surprise me. First, the visuals, while being unlike anything i had ever seen, totally blew me away. The backgrounds were so rich, as much in the details as in the large array of colours, it was beautiful. In contrast to the flawless background artwork, the characters were much less detailed (especially the extras, people in the background) which really gave a stunning visual style to the film. The story was good and, in my opinion, is all about how things change around us and keeping a certain balance in life (illustrated by the dichotomy of the two protagonists, 2 brothers appropriatly named Black and White). Interestingly enough, i enjoyed the actual relationship between the brothers evenmore than the ying-yang methaphor because of how it reminded me of my childhood with my twin. I could talk a while about this one because of how original, gorgeous and weird it was but i'll stop here. Absolutly loved it!

Ronin (1998): 8/10
I don't feel like writing that much for this one. Very good action/heist /car-chase movie. France meets USA, i really appreciated the bilingual dialogues just as in Inglourious Basterds. Don't watch the trailer, it spoils way too many twists.

This movie is surprisingly good. I was expecting not to laugh at all but it was quite funny.

The Spirit of the Beehive (1973)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070040/

One of the few non animated films, if not not the only one I've ever seen, that has a true MYAZAKI feeling.

Possible Spoilers but maybe you will be disappointed after my introduction if you don't read this:
Don't expect any fantasy stuff, ghosts and everything, it's all up to the imagination, but has such a nice feeling to it :)

Inception: - 9

I liked it. Was interesting to watch and kept me guessing what would happen next and how would the movie end. Whole time I kept trying to outsmart the movie so I think I didn't quite understand everything what was going on. Probably should've just enjoyed what the movie was offering at that moment. Gonna watch again some time =)

Aliens (1986) : 9/10
After watching Alien, I felt some sort of void within myself. I think it was caused by two, not dichotomous, but quite opposite feelings towards this film. The film created a terrifying mood and surely one of the most iconic monsters in the history of horror but at the same time, I was left wanting more by the time the movie was over. The table was set, but the real feast is Aliens.

Iron Man (2008) : 7/10
By no way is this a brilliant movie but it sure is one fun pop-corn flick and as usual, Robert Downey Jr totally makes the movie. This man is totally perfect for this kinda deadpan humor as in Sherlock Holmes and Due Date. Could make some generic comments like good action, good special effects, effective story and so on but to sum it up, it's you typical summer blockbuster, but better.

It wasn't as creepy as everyone has said it was but it sure was chilling at times. Supernatural villains is far more scary than some random dude running around. As soon as I have a face to the fear, the fear is gone. Now we're prepared for PA2.

Humm, some hard question you got there, i'll suggest some films:

American Psycho
A wealthy New York investment banking executive hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he escalates deeper into his illogical, gratuitous fantasies. Simply a brilliant film.

Choke
A sex-addicted con-man pays for his mother's hospital bills by playing on the sympathies of those who rescue him from choking to death. A very unknown film the author of Fight Club, very interesting main character.

La grande bouffe
A group of men hire some prostitutes and go to a villa in the countryside. There, they engage in group sex and resolve to eat themselves to death. I still haven't got around to watching this but i've heard it's a marvelous movie (and quite disgusting too).

Donnie Darko
A troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a large bunny rabbit that manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident.
