I have no idea why Ropelli is so angry, while totem makes great levelmaking tool which helps others to comfortly make levels.
as long as totems NEW! is not open-source, i see no problem in what has he done. It smells a bit envy from Ropelli's side, like "we, the chosen ones make elma2, and totem betrayed us, because he used physics from elma2 (which is not exactly true, while it is elma1 physics) to his own project and his own profit, gaining advantage over other level editors."
What the?
he is not making NEW! because he wants to show us how good programmer he is. He makes it to make our fun from levelmaking greater.
Ropelli please.
edit: Ropelli, while sharing code to totem, you automatically took the risk that he will spread it. He did not, he just used it elsewhere as well. After doing so, you had no chance to restrict his use of it.

I don't know what the agreements were, but I admit that I feel a bit awkward about this as well. How I look at it - it's not about the competitiveness or anything totem, rather just ignoring the initial agreements, which seems a bit unfair.

But, all together, I don't care and I don't find it offensive in any direction, and I'm very very thankful and glad that you still work on NEW!, which is by far my favourite elma app =)

there was no agreement on this, ropelli just decided he didnt want totem to use smibus code

if now - dafuq ropelli, leave totem alone :D

if before - róde totem, but who cares, he didn't use it to rule the world :() I don't care unless totem shares it and it contributes to elma2 being-xiited skills, in a however magical way :)

Just a suggestion. Maybe you developers could work together on something like this when the time comes. A great designing program like this is pretty relevant to what is good to implement in Elma2 and so totem redeveloping this program using the new code might result in a very quick and easy implementation of a very very nice designing tool.

As far as i'm concerned, implementing features like the upgraded level and replay viewers should be a possibility too.

very big improve, add vertices tool is so much better, feels real nice :D
shame the version with testing is gone, sounded like a real cool feature

fuck, there is still a bug when you drag/drop pictures from lgr widget. Clipping is not computed correctly and you have to force level-check to update clipping Image

i'll fix this soon

edit :

also, bene bugs :
- keybindings doesn't work if you change the default ones :oops: (edit: actually it seems that only arrow keys do not work).What I didn't precise is that you can't choose special keys as single binding, like [Alt] key alone;
- in level information widget, ground/sky lists contains several times the same info when you click on "refresh info"

When I select large amount of verticles and delete them, the program collapses. Otherwise the new version is pretty good, I had a lot of trouble with NEW!_0.40 (I think I had that version), but the current one (NEW!_1.7.5_) is ok. I didn't find any other bug besides deleting large amount of verticles. (Sometimes when I delete them, the program does not collapse, but it doesn't allow me to select many verticles at once again - but most of the time, it collapses).

ok, i'll try to reproduce this, it shouldn't be hard.

I have currently hidden downloads because I found serious bugs even in last version (try to insert vertices, randomly using space to change inserteing order, split/connect polygons and punctuate with undo/redo every now and then; this leads to weird behaviour) .

I will advertise here when new version is up

I now have to modify a huge part of the code, and I don't have time to do it, so.. I'll post here when it's done

Is it possible to generate levels with this version? how can I install 2 versions of NEW! if not? because I loved that feature. I'll download old version for now

You can't use level generation in current version (it's just disabled to make a lighter install)
You can't install an older version when a newer is already installed

I did rewrite the core of NEW! to separate model and view (so that undo/redo mechanism works better), now I would have to rewrite a bunch of algorithms using the new system. But I don't because life, sorry

I have a few issues on 64-bit Windows 7:
- sometimes apples disappear after I hit play (last time was when I used textures over vertexes) - even though they appear when I open the lev, they disappear after the first play and then don't re-appear at all until I re-open the lev;
- after editing for a couple of minutes, if I try to close the lev the editor crashes;
- the editor crashes when I try to delete grass.
