Atheists
I hope this dosent boughter anyone. I just want to be a disscution about atheists and reasons. I dont want religious conflicts.
I personally think that atheism is not something "invented" or "created" and evolved in modern age. I think the ones "created" were cults. Beeing an atheist was normal before. Animals dont have religion. Now religion became normal and all we want is to get that atheist rational feeling back. Anything that dosent accept the world as it is, it's a cult.

Reliance upon others is weakness for the strong, but strength for the weak.
I'm in DnH (Det norske hedningsamfunn) wich means The norwegian heathensociety. So, i am a heathen =)
Heathens are in the bible described as those that were not christians or jews...now it's more like a religion-doubter =)
I doubt that the bible has more to it than just a bunch of made up stories and i dont belive that there are any "god".
jesus may very well have lived, and been a good man, but not a holy-man.
He was probably the first illutionist that lived and conviced his diciples etc. that he could do "tricks" by, well, tricking them =)
Actually the term "walk on water" ment swimming in the old days...
I dislike religion cus it's been the root of a lot of evil and stupid things.
It's because of the christians that f.ex. sex is so tabu...the word "tabu" was actually made by christians (religious ppl at least).
Make up your own mind, but this is my opinion.

It's not the right time to be sober, 'cause now the idiots are taking over. EM rox.
No, "tabu" wasn't made up by Christians. It comes from some voodoo-type culture or something in the pacific somewhere.\DC wrote:the word "tabu" was actually made by christians (religious ppl at least).

Well I am a member of the Norwegian-Lutheran church, but I am going to sign out one of those lucky days. For some reason I took the confirmation..Anyway, what I see myself as is an agnostic. I believe we cannot know if there is a god or not. Personally I don't believe there is (so I am almost an atheist), but I won't rule out the possibility. But, if there is one (or several) I don't believe it is anything like the gods described in the different religions.
Let me add that I respect everyone elses beliefs, no matter what. But some I may respect more than others. If you f.ex. have looked at your religion from a different point of view, but have come to the conclusion that you really believe this, instead of just blindly follow the faith you were taught up to believe, without questioning it at all.

I dream of a world where chickens can cross the road without their motives being questioned.

I don't think all atheists accept the world as it is.....Doddddy wrote: Anything that dosent accept the world as it is, it's a cult.
Are they a cult?
btw I don't believe in god, perhaps he believes in me.
Actually that was a quote but anyhow. Firt I wanna say that all kind of religion is allways bullshit (even elma yes ) but i dont care what others belive in. I do mind though that we are "forced" at school to learn this crap!!!

What do you mean by this? Do you mean learning about one single religion you are supposed to believe? Or do you mean learning about the different world religions? If you mean the latter, well, it is important to learn about other religions.Doddddy wrote: I do mind though that we are "forced" at school to learn this crap!!!
