MiE LGR
We have now created a new team LGR for our cup! Enjoy!
There at the moment does exist four different versions.
1) With Aapeli water as sky
2) With normal sky as sky
3) With normal textures
4) With normal textures and objects, no kuski pictures

Re: MiE LGR
tried for a while but it is bad for my eyes

I think its a cool LGR!

Re: MiE LGR
I like everything except the white bricks which I agree feel bad for eyes and also it's almost impsy to read the chat over them. Pictures of kuskis doing stuff are mega cool.

Updated LGR and made also new LGR with normal sky as sky to make ppl's eyes bleed less. Any other improvement suggestions?

Re: MiE LGR
Tried my best in fixing the sky with the elma palette. Still quite far from the real minigolf water but at least it's blue now.Lammas wrote:yes, fix the water, its purple atm
Also added a lgr with 100% normal textures. Does someone want it with normal objects too or without mie.lgr pictures?
Re: MiE LGR
what about making your own color palette instead? it would avoid using noise on textures and use uniform colors. not sure how that's that would be the way to gonick-o-matic wrote:...with the elma palette.

We're using the elma palette because that way the shirts don't get fucked up colours.Mawane wrote:what about making your own color palette instead? it would avoid using noise on textures and use uniform colors. not sure how that's that would be the way to gonick-o-matic wrote:...with the elma palette.

Re: MiE LGR
I'm still working on this lgr to make it more usable. Now I have been experimenting with the ground color since it's too bright even though I made it significantly darker than real ground in minigolf. Now please someone explain to me why if I make a ground that looks like horribly dark in any image processing program it looks like freaking perfect ingame?
Any image processing program:

So it seems that this thing will be fixed in the next version that will be released today. Sorry for all the fuss with the mongo bright ground and purple sky. The idea of this lgr came too quickly for the cup. And this color palette stuff is making this a bit hard.

Re: MiE LGR
It looks exactly the same to me.
Viewing that image against a light or dark background can make it appear lighter or darker than it really is.
The sky is darker, and so that makes the ground appear lighter. The one shown in your post is against a light background, thus making it appear darker.
But put them both side by side against any background and they look the same.

Re: MiE LGR
Oh dear, that indeed seems to be the case. It's interesting how human eye and brain color things function. It seems to be particularly complex how we do interpret grey. This illusion absolutely blew my mind when I saw it ~10y ago: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checker_shadow_illusionLee wrote:It looks exactly the same to me.

Anyway, that gray is now perhaps a bit too dark already. I think I make it still a bit less dark. It shouldn't get too far from minigolf ground (see for example http://www.taateli.com/index.php?s=rata ... &rata=1202).

Re: MiE LGR
Updated! The ground should be playable now. You will see chat etc.
EDIT: also made the 4th LGR where everything is as in default lgr.
This is the reason everyone should use at least the 3rd lgr. You will get rid of the "lgr file missing" error message as well.Zweq in another topic wrote:I think this is a bug, possibly been in elma always: if level has been set to have someother.lgr and you dont have it and play the level from editor, the lgr gets automatically changed to default.lgr, which results in changed lev.
