Have you bought Elma or Across?

Post by Abula »

Usually people say that about only 5% of players have bought the game and show some respect for Balazs. Let's see the percentage of the users of Mopolauta.

Feel bothered? Visit here and register Elma legally.

By the way, what computer game have you played the most? And what's the cheapest game you have?

I myself got the game from friends (warez) but Elma released I bought it via PeXi (legally). Also I've gotten Elma CD (twice) where you get the games legally too.

for me the money has nothing to do with respect . if balasz thinx he should get money for his art then no respect to him . but of course it's honourable to donate something to him for his work . let's say if he makes a true new version for elma 2 we'll all buy it

Of course I´ve bought the game, it costs like to beers... I can´t see any reason for Not buying it. If you have bought a computer for over 1000$, why not buy this game for 9.95$?

I didn´t pay for it to get the game, I allready had it... but I felt I had to pay for it... I bought it around wr-table #3.

I bought it! Then I bought Elma Forever CD. Then my schoolmates downloaded it and laughed at me. Then they laughed at me some more when i asked them what their totals were :?

The game I've played most is Unreal Tournament. Yeah, i play some free volleyball game, but it's probably a different one. The cheapest game I've paid for is Elma :D then Syndicate Wars

i have 2 copies of syndicate wars, when me and cousin were younger we used to steal computer games from a store, it was so fucking easy, we just took the games out of the boxes and took em, and we took about 10games(!) each trip, we went outside emptied our pockets into a bag we had there and went back to the store, and we did that like everyday for an month or something, we sold them in school for like 100SEK(to swedish ppl, det va mkt pengar da  .) its pretty cheap for a computer game so we made like 2000SEK in a week and we were like so rich and then the principal started to get suspicious coz we always on the first break on monday emptied our backpack at the table and ppl were just like ill take this heres the money etcetc, and after a month we had to stop the stealing coz they had hired like 4guards(thats rite, 4 8O ), so we stopped it and then we were poor again  , my cousin got caught once, but he luckily didnt have any games on him and we were like 12years old so they couldnt do anything, so they just asked him where i live etc, he didnt tell em anything. so. thats why i have 2 copies of syndicate wars, cuz we just took the games, we didnt remember if we had that particlar game or not :)
Im just a pretty boy or whatever you call it.

I can't find suitable category... I warezed it untill i won the elma forever cd by winning the elmacd-competition, playing on my warezed elma.

I do feel that i now own a version that is not warezed, so i really don't feel any guilt for not giving Bladez any money. Allthough I would prob order a new version over the net and but that one, as it would be the fastest way to get the game.

Balazs wArEz sent me elma right after it was released :)

Ye I got Across 1.0 from a friend back in 1997, but after I had made WR in Slippery Slope in Feb 1998 (i think), I also got the 1.2 upgrade url for free from Balasz :)
I think I have that ElmaCD somewhere too :)

I know elma only for ± one and a half year. First me and my friends played the share-ware version. Only one of us, Base, had a computer, so we played on that one. We just compete eachother, but only the first 18 levels. But about one year ago he left and we forgot about the game, we only played starcraft (original, not broodwar) at the university. But last summer we start playing elma again. One of us downloaded the full version from kazaa. Now all of us have a computer. I like to play elma, so I bought the elma-for-ever-cd. I always buy the original games...
The game i have played the most is: starcraft. The cheapest game i have is the bridgebuilder-shareware version, but the cheapest game i payed for is Warcraft (Orcs & Humans), cos I liked Starcraft so much, I want to have all the blizzard games. So one time, about 1 year ago I found the original Warcraft box in a gameshop for like $ 4,50 and bought it.

The computergamesI play most now are: elma and sometimes I play isketch on www.isketch.net, it is online pictionary.

I wouldn´t pay for anything I knew i could get for free. Even if I play this game often I think it´s nice that you can download it on the web for free. How do you guys think it would be if you couldn´t get it for free on the web? I think Maybe 50 would play it now and it wouldn´t be nothing near as big as it is now.

Jonas: what do you think if Balázs hadn't made the game, I think not many of us would be playing it. Support his work, at least the people who play more (everybody who is registered to Mopolauta at least).

$10.. Think it, it's like two drinks in bar. What a financial sacrifice for thousands of hours of joy.

I couldn´t have said it better .. For the amount of joy you get from the game.. $10 is so little... ... think of it this way .. by giving him the money, you show your appreciation for a great game and for his effort of making it for us

Even if they would let me I dont think i would cause i live in australia and i dont have a credit card so its to much to send the money.

hell, i dont think i have paid for any of me software. I got win xp pro and office xp pro and visual studio 6 free and all of my other games and stuff.

So yeah. I havent paid for it even though i should

I think it's sad that more than 60% chose one of these two:

Stupid! You can get the game freely from http://www.w******z.com

Well, I think it's reasonable to say that it gives quite a good idea about the lauta user age group (not like it's not clear anyway).

Though, I'll still admit I haven't bought it myself. I also want to add that I will most likely to do so if elma forever cd is being distributed sometime again.

But showing off how many games one has downloaded for free!1 is one of the most pathetic things you can see on the Internet.

personally i'm just really lazy about it, and kinda waiting for elma 2 to come and then paying for it and getting it legit! plus balazs needs to make som simple payment method with creditcard bango...
