Internal Level Facts

Post by Schumi »

Hi all!

Maybe it is not a new discovery, but I just recognized, that Enduro is a Remix of Circuitous :) The flower and start positions are EXACTLY the same!!
I believe that the Editor Balázs and Csaba used, had a polygon cut/join functionality. Just check Ramp Frenzy in Across and Elma. :)

If you have interesting knowlegde of other internal levels, please share. I think this was the most obvious one...

GREAT!! :D
yea, seems 26 and 42 are very similar.

hmm but, 22 lev has 3 absolutely same loops in your pic with 40th, imo its wrong (but not sure, I haven't old across levs).

----------------------------------------------------------------
Probably fact (very not sure):

Tinnel Terror was 1st lev, where grass and pics appeared, bcz
1) grass has very diff sizes there
2) trees in start seems not good
3) barrels at left down seems very strange
4) all pictures are in grops: 3 pictures in each group; 2 logs together.
:?

Levels were stored on: 1998.03.20

STORKED! :)

EDIT: As I see, Across 1.2 was released in 1998.03.23, these levels were probably made for this version, but for some reason they were left out in the end.

So Hooked and Downhill was orignally made for Dylan Cooper, the official tester of elma.

Code: Select all

readme.txt

Dylan Cooper gave me linguistic help for all written text in the
game and gave most of the levels their names.
In the original version of Downhill, his name was included: "SLOW DOWN, DYLAN"

yes, he tested all levels during the development of across and elma.

Code: Select all

"Dylan Cooper gave me linguistic help for all written text in the game, gave
all the levels their names and tested the game so extensively, that he is
one of the fastest players in the world."
jblaze wrote:cool discoveries, why is there no spikes on bottom loop in 26int comparison? just curious if you cut them or twhat
because all the examples were made by using the Across levels, cuz they are the very original internal levels. in elasto mania, nearly all internal levels were modified.

here is a list you can check:

ujtolcs.leb - Steep Corner (tolcs: tölcsér: funnel)
ujzuhan.leb - Bumpy Journey (zuhan: falling)
ujvissza.leb - Haircut (vissza: back)
ujcsab.leb - Sink (csab: likely a new Rózsa Csaba level)
Mate.leb - Bowling (Magyar Máté, alias MUe)
ujdownhi.leb - Downhill
ujcsomo.leb - What the Heck (csomo: csomó: knot)
ujhook.leb - Hooked

visit.leb (level 55)

can be... anyway, the number of vertices matches in the lower part (if you try move them, Quick Round fits on Enigma's vertices)

Some parts in Elma 2 inernals are copied between levels. I don't know the level names, but I remember noticing some parts in the iOS version.

Idk if anyone noticed it before, but internal 19 (Turnaround) has a secret polygon inside the ground. Is this an Easter egg, a mistake, or does it have a purpose? https://imgur.com/a/C5c2Y https://imgur.com/a/d54OW

This is not really internal level fact, but it's also not not internal level fact neither.

When you play elma the y-axis flips. In other words you enter the world and it turns upside down. So elma is played in an upside down dimension. jonsykkel can confirmed.

Elma 2 is even more confusing. Old data types copied over from Elma 1 are in negative orientation, but new data types (lines, paths) are in positive (normal) orientation.
