i don't see any reason why it wouldn't be accepted, if there was a preset list of rules for the naming, and i think it would be a nice idea. some simple "wcup05 #" in the start would not shorten the possible name length by much.

ye keep the name as long as wcupxx is in the title. it's more creative and less boring.

I think the level name should be kept, as well as a "by XXXX". In WCup4 there was neither, as far as I remember.
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

If there's enough space for all the stuff, I see no reason for excluding lev original name or designer. WCup3 had those, WCup4 didn't. So, please don't come up with too long lev names :)

Already talked about this subject in elma.fi a couple of weeks ago.
Wcup501 lev name by nick , that had most support if I remember right, says it all and leaves room for a bit longer level name.

Or maybe it could be just "WC" at teh beginning - like "WC01 name by nick" then ... (like e. g. in soccer: WC 1998 etc.)

I don't see how keeping the level name will make it better, "Wcup05 Eventxx by xxxxx" is enough in my opinion. :o

it just adds to the coolness of the level, i dunno why, but for example all my favourite externals i remember them by their level title, not the filename

You could only add the levelname, and don't put "by nick" in it.
