The event 'back to the old days' or 'nostalgia time'

Post by onlainari »

What about an event in wcup with a level that works in Action Supercross DEMO and then add link to the across demo. That would add lot of spice to the contest. The rules would be the same as in wcup but you have to play this level in across or in across demo.

* in case that some people have trouble getting across to work on their computer. Some tend to have problems with it on Win XP, this level would be the 'a' level of certain event. Then there would be a 'b' event after that for those who wants or couldn't play the 'a', across event.

Why I want it is that I would like to try the good old across for real once again. Almost everyone have forgotten the big brother of elma, and it feels like its abandoned. Who knows if even Champi0n or Bobbo comes and submits the best time.

Agree or disagree?

That would be cool indeed. I have never seen those 'old good times' but I have played across and I can imagine the nostalgy :P

I use xp so probably wouldnt be able to use across, though i have never tried. although i doubt this would ever happen, i really would be interested to see if old old schoolers could still own the new age champions on across

donno about the probabilities getting across work there. But at least on my computers with XP it works. On couple of them it lags a bit though.

yeh you could play it, but if you have to send in across replay... elma replays won't work in across.

btw, in this contest a and b event could be arranged at the same time and same level :P those sending in b just sends the elma repl and those across sends in their across replay

Maybe this is too far fetched idea like most of my ideas are, but there's a chance it could happen.

The problem, though, is that a lot more people would choose the elma event, making scoring many points easier in the across event.

I hate the Across event idea. Simply put: there's no way I would get Across to run without having to format a computer just for that purpose, which is absolutely out of question. I don't see many people playing an Across event honestly but I guess you have to have one to see how many would play.

If you can't make a new partition without formating, then I might play it directly on floppy. I think there's a software for partitionning though
but what is the vertex limitation on demo?

Just wondering, has any levels so far had "world cup 5" written in the level itself? People should do that! It's called dedication.

There is an error made in the standings. If you look at http://www.moposite.com/downloads/wcups ... p05_12.txt you see that squip gets 42p. If you look here http://www.moposite.com/downloads/wcups ... ndings.txt you see that squip didn't receive those points though, but a blank nick on the 77th place gets 42p for total.
And on top of that, MK gets 66p, while it deserves 70, because:

Squip (42), Me (19), Zworqy (5), Juski (4) makes 70 points.
So if px could fix that we would be glad! :)

The results script is case sensitive, so you need to write your nick and team exactly the same way every time, otherwise they won't add up. Shouldn't be too hard to remember your own nick spelling?

I'll see if I can add Squip score to squip's.

Done now, thank you.

It was the case that in that same period abula changed squip to Squip, while squip himself wasn't aware that yet, I guess. Otherwise squip can add his comments here?

I asked Abula to change my nick: squip ---> Squip

When i then sent my wc result i typed Squip, didnt know if it was possible to type squip anymore or not. Is it?
