I don't want to buy Windows. It is too expensive and rubbish. Surely there is a way to play Elasto on Mac or Linux?

Are you a fucking idiot loser from Mars?

You pay thousands of dollars for a shitty facebook machine and you think a $40 OS is too expensive to play a loooooow spec game?

You are such an idiot you are almost as idiot as X-ratio.

Holy shit I cannot even think of how much of an idiot you are, go away!

Merry Christmas! <3

Same way you would other windows games. I'm luckily no expert on how you do anything on a mac, but I have seen someone simply have windows installed alongside mac's os and boot to that to play games, might not be so convenient though. Dosbox has a version for mac, maybe try that, or some other virtual machine whatever exists for mac.

It's called bootcamp or something. I suggest this.

I don't mind it when people joke around a little with the people they already know, but when someone new or someone who hasn't been in the scene for a long time comes along and asks for advice, it makes me feel bad when I see people shitting on them or their posts. The way this topic turned from someone just asking for friendly advice to some operating system circle jerk in just a couple of posts is ridiculous. Again, it's ok to joke around if you already know the man (jon, opera is nab browser), but when someone who isn't as involved in the scene asks you a question you answer politely. Then, of course, if they behave like xratios you are allowed to treat them as such.

X-ratio.

ps. I didn't read your post properly, only first line. Then I read xratio at end. No apologies. X-ratio.

You are the rudest person I've met on the internet. Despite the fact that I am a fellow Aussie you couldn't be bothered to help me out and wrote complete shit. I have been playing Elma much earlier than you - probably from 2003 and I joined this site earlier than you. I only have a Mac at the moment and I can't afford to buy a PC, but I would dearly love to play Elma. Anyway, there is not much point talking to an idiot like you.

I thank those who wrote genuine suggestions and made an effort to help. I've tried using DosBox, but it said it couldn't execute the main file. I'll try some other Windows emulators out there.

There are plenty of options. Use program called Wine or some virtual machine with Windows. I don't think you can find Elma binaries that would run natively on OS X. Alternatively you can dual boot Windows and OS X on your Mac.

A few days ago I actually managed to get Elma working on my MacBook using Wineskin. I built a very basic Wrapper with the latest engine, and just copy/pasted the game inside. If you want me to talk you through it just PM me and I'll add you to Xfire or Skype or whatever you've got.
