Why Elma is so addictive?
So, answer.
cause of its simplicity, which makes you believe that getting wrs or such is a farily easy thing - "what? you just press a couple of buttons in the correct order?". Then later when you realize how hard it can be, you're already hooked.

answer to this is simple. deep down all elastomania players are homosexuals, they simply enjoy watching hot male figure twitching on top a motorcycle. kuskis sensual body movements make any gay man want for more and more, before you know it, youve been seduced by this 2 dimensional sexy beast.
Now hold on, Iron Joe...

I think elma is really addictive because it's so much hoylable. If you miss a try, doesn't matter because it takes you only 30s to do it again. But the main reason why I got addicted was because of infinite posibilities of levels. Always a level to match with your skills. More, there is a fabulous world around elma, so much stuff to see and exchange with other fans.
I don't think elma is addictive, we are just a group of noobs who play it
There is like 100-200 active players (maybe less) and thats probably like
0,0000000000000000000001 % of the people on earth.
Nah. Elma is just so good that 1:10000 people who tries it gets caught. unfortunately we are those "1's"

but thats not the question, the question is why is it so addictive to you?

It must be addictive given that the number of players didn't really decrease since its release, which was almost 10 years ago (including the across days). You can't tell this about every other game now.
I think it's the constant - and easily measurable - challenge it gives, and the infinite number of possible (and also entertaining) levels.

I'd say more than 1 million AUSSIES alone have tried to finish all levels, add in the rest of the worls and you have like... some 20-30m.

on our elementary school(13-15y old lilboiz) there was no boy that didnt know what's elma. 95% of them tried the game. Around half were enough addicted to play externals on the weekly computer related lessons. around 10% were so addicted that finished all internals. around 5% hoyled tt.
in 2003 there were around 160k 15-19 aged males in finland. 7k of them finished all internals
trust me, I knows! no further proving is required

Re: Why Elma is so addictive?
I think it's so addictive coz it's so perfectly made THe physics are imba, the game has everything expect the rest that it lacks
A game where you can improve your times/results and compete against others online is already addictive..
Jappe.. I think posting such useless offtopic replies about the previous post's "HAHA" or "Lol" is just as much ban'ish as the Hahahah Lol replies.
Therefore ban Jappe2 too

Re: Why Elma is so addictive?
Because the sky's the limit; you can always get better times (except in those 0.01 long levels and such).
Re: Why Elma is so addictive?
Agreed there's a limit/asymptote, but you can always get closer to it. In the future, WR could be calculated to the nearest 0.001 or 0.0001.Lukazz wrote:i bet under 10 on warm up will never happen.Snadle wrote:Because the sky's the limit; you can always get better times (except in those 0.01 long levels and such).

Re: Why Elma is so addictive?
elma is not addictive. As long as you don't play it, that is.
Re: Why Elma is so addictive?
i am addicted because elma forces you to play better and better times, so nab kuskis like me could sit in front of PC whole day playing.
Re: Why Elma is so addictive?
i didn't wade through this topic, but has adrenaline been mentioned ?
I think this drug is for a lot in elma addiction.

Re: Why Elma is so addictive?
i think it's because:
the controls are very simple but the amount of moves are vast. based on vectors and elastic bike structure give a very special feeling to the bike, which is what gets you addicted. it's a good balance of static and dynamic, with no unexpected enemies, and hundreds of ways to finish a level, and do all kinds of tricks and just cruise
