It turns out that Camp Mongo is only the tip of the iceberg. Some quick Google searches revealed that there's a massive underground clan of bears patiently waiting to inflict woe and horror on the world as we know it.
This "Bear" thing is a big cult for fat, hairy homosexuals all across the world.

It scares me beyond comprehension.

There's an English word, mongoloid, that means the same thing. Also, mongos are apparently the Mongolian currency.

The word 'retarded' is used a lot in English (at least American), mongo is definitely not more offensive than that.
