MAYOR STATE.DAT PROBLEM

yesterday i all of a sudden couldnt start elma12.exe the screen went black and if i pressed a button it turned off, i took a copy of my state.dat because i didnt want too lose my times, then i downloaded a new elma and installed elma12 whne i tried it it worked fine. but when i copied my old state.dat the same problem appeard again, i couldnt play elma.

Is there a way to fix this, or do i have to restart from the bottom?

Me had same prob once, but had backupped state.dat just the day before
