Calculating average times
I made a program to calculate average times and average tt, but the average times can differ 1 centisecond if i compare with Balazs' average counter. Now my question is, does he calculate to milliseconds, to get a more exact time, or does he just add 1 centisecond to each time?
I downloaded your program today. The problem is it doesn't round the time it calculates, it just takes the first 2 decimales. So your counter always gives the same time or a lower one then Balazs' counter, never a higher one.
Example: If I calculate my average on flat track myself it's 17.209
Your counter makes it 17.20 but it should be rounded, so 17.204 becomes 17.20 and 17.205 becomes 17.21
The really strange thing is, that at some levels the difference is 2 hundreds of a second, so that can't be a rounding error.
When I use your counter for my total average it's 50:05,50 while this should be 50:06,05

You are right but i can fix this is guess...Serj wrote:it just takes the first 2 decimales. So your counter always gives the same time or a lower one then Balazs' counter, never a higher one.
Have to figure out why this occurs...Serj wrote:The really strange thing is, that at some levels the difference is 2 hundreds of a second, so that can't be a rounding error.
That is logical, because the average=lev1_average+lev2_average etc. On that way, the average tt is much lower.Serj wrote:When I use your counter for my total average it's 50:05,50 while this should be 50:06,05
Anyway, I made some big mistakes, and will fix those this week or something. Tnx for figuring out the problem.

I had started to like you...Flat Tracker wrote:fucker, he said that already ok! this program works for multiple nicks in a stat too, or if you haven't completed a level 10 times yet.
sorry for that first word, but such things can make me so angry.
btw. if u don't have have 10 times in a level, u simply don't have a avg time in that level.

No fun with avg time with only one finish.Flat Tracker wrote:And why can't you have average time when you have 9 times instead 0f 10? You CAN calculate the average of 9 numbers seems to me.
.....
but then i u wanted an avg total then u would have to finish ALL levels 10 times and every one maybe dont want to do that?
No regrets

if u want to send ur average to moposite i understand that u need too have 10 times on all levels, but if u just want to know ur avregae tt for fun then whats the big deal if u dont have a top ten on AH or LP.SveinR wrote:Where should the line be drawn then? How many finishes should be the minimum for getting an average?Juski wrote: but then if u wanted an avg total then u would have to finish ALL levels 10 times and every one maybe dont want to do that?
