el m0r trend0rz

Post by ribot »

i was browsing thru old 'lauta threads, in order to get some inspiration to write a new topic. i didn't wanna get bored, since i can quite easily get points in my bored contest anyway, and being bored is bad karma. so, i thought i'd write a good post, but i needed a topic first.

now, back to topic:
so i saw that some ppl started saying el ma, after me introducing it when new 'lauta came. maybe it's not a trend yet, but i claim i started it. why do everyone say elastomania anyway, when it's spelled elasto mania? i used to do it too, just didn't know better. but as soon as everyone starts doing it it's not necessarily better, so be careful.

the other trends have been mentioned a few times already:
this0r,this0rZ,and t|-|l5{}|2z - leet tork or so, tho it seems more developed in el ma scene than elsewhere from where i've seen on net. at least the 0r0rz stuff0rz0rz.

then the nick trendz:
Aubla Karpatori wrote:Ye, nick shortening is a trend (at least was): psymorph -> psy, PeXi -> px, Snyder -> sny, MGen -> mg, SirEvilX -> EML, GuyBrush -> GuyB etc. Next DarMoeD -> DMD, TorInge -> Tor, Jeppe -> Jep? I wonder how the next trend will be.

By the way ={ }= is very cool, maybe new trend would be that. ={Abula}=! Nah the new trend is psykahvi, dzhousut, mpkirjahylly as psy told me.
Quite good description by Apula.

then:
JEU - *** knock is back. jeu. cloud thort it was cool. jeu.

ciph's mom - when u see ciph's hot sexy mom - hey i started this trend too. bleh.

Now i'm sick of this post, but i'll try to add something extra, just previewing... one sec. Ok done, a few errors, but you'll forgive me, u won't see them anyway.
Are there more trends? there must be some, i'm too lazy to write more here.

The way you greet in irc, "hi", "hii", "der", "mo".

I myself try to make new way to say it and use it for about 3 months and till many other people are using same I take a new one. "hii" is current.

Elma pages, driving styles (in uphill do you brake or just not press gas when you want to front wheel lower [but have max speed]? using alovolt eventhough it's not needed, press turning multiple times just for fun [bobbo's winning replay in wc2k] etc), levels.

I think that braking thing is about lev and situation, sometimes it's better just release gas for just a little while and sometimes other way

Just check Champi0N replays, he brakes all the time and everywhere. Still he's the fastest.

just check some warm up replays, I'm pretty sure it's faster to release the gas then press brake

It's more fun to press <up arrow> all the time. I'm here to tell you: Do not remove finger from <up arrow>!! you can even use something to keep it pressed down all the time, and you don't have to worry about that key

The anti-trend trend is the best one ever.
But soon the anti-trenders will become the majority and the new anti-trend will become the regular trend.
It will make a complete loop and it'll probably go on like this for a long long time.
I dream of a world where chickens can cross the road without their motives being questioned.

So you're the guy that had been using Total Gym 1000 for 18 years before it appeared on TV-Shop?!
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

That's not a trend, it's a bunch of levels from the Hell guys.

Trends are usually a bad word to me.. but maybe quitting for real could be a trend... and we can start a new channel in IRC (#quitted_for_real) and talk about non-elmastuff :o
OMG, I am a genius... am I?
