DriectX settings and elma "lagging"/"hacking&

Post by DCEM »

ok.
I once installed win2k to get the 1st alovolt patch to work. Imideatly i noticed that elma started hacking when i turned and it hacked a bit when I drove too.
Then I installed dx81NT.exe patch, and nothing happned.
When i was at a LAN, i had to install win2k all over again. This made the hacking even worse, and that's har to get used to.
I have played like this for a while, and it sux!! All of u that have a elma that hacks, knows that it really sux, and it breaks u'r concentration!
THEN I MADE A BREAKTHROUGH!!

This is the guide :

1.go to the windows run menu (win.key + R)
2.type in DXDIAG, wich brings up the directX settings.
3.go to the last tab, MORE HELP.
4.press the OVERRIDE... button, and a box will appear.

NOTE : The override value is most probably DEFAULT.

5.Change that to OVERRIDE VALUE, and put 120 as the value!
6.now open elma.

You will see that the screen has moved up and left, and this sux.
but, just adjust your monitor, and it's nice again.
This does not affect the way u'r windows looks =)
I dont belive that it does anything else to elma, than make it run smooth, so i would not say that it's cheating.
You'll of course belive that u drive better, but that's just a placebo effect=)

If you try this, and it works or bugs out, GIMME FEEDBACK!

Oh, it worked. Now I can play online! Great, great, thanks \DC.

I have XP and seems like I can play now Elma as smooth as in Win98.

Sometimes it's very easy to see you are a girl...

-----HOWEVER------

He means battle, there you are connected to IRC all the time playing elma, (That means you are connected to internet).

btw. /DC good trick you do there, I think I will try it on my to....

Well I didn't mean battle but playing same time when internet is on. Somehow Elma is lagging when I'm connected. So in Wcup I disconnect, play Elma, do best time, connect, tell to FM my time, disconnet etc. It's annoying. Now I don't have to do it anymore. In battles the tiny lagging isn't that essential.

Too expensive.

I have XP Pro too. It lags only if I'm connected to internet or listening MP3s. I don't have that good computer so maybe it's that, Celeron 433MHz.
