I'm wondering if those who have gone to elma meets (at least ones where very good players have been there) have found that they improved their skills from doing so. I kind of get the feeling that if I could see Markku, Luther, axxu, Karlis, Jeppe, whoever, playing irl then I'd maybe learn some new things about the way to play. It's one thing to watch their recs after they've played for some time, but I'm interested to know if watchin them as they cruise or hoyl would give any new insight.
Thoughts?

Re: Elma meet = makes you better?
Curious topic. What can people that went to recent FEMs say about this?
Re: Elma meet = makes you better?
Zero effect for me for sure. I guess you would need to really pay attention and spy for hours to get any kind of advantage.
< roopemies> horror and frustrating and can't play, sounds just like you

No effect on me. In fact, maybe everyone else got better instead

I think some 10 years ago when mr saw Zweq play he got so badly demotivated for the skill difference that he pretty much retired internal höyling
