Longest lev ever?

Post by H8 »

Here's a lev my friend, Yonaz/Yudaz created maybe a year ago:

http://mxb.dk/upload/TheMines.lev

It's not a great level, mabe not even ok, But i think it might be the longest lev yet. 8O
I think the lev is possible to finish in maybe 17-18 mins 8) ; my best try is 13,xx,xx ( i think )

You should open it in ALE first, just to get an idea of how long the lev is, it's really amazing!
I don't expect anyone to play this lev, it's quite boring, but here's my best rec anyway: :)

http://www.mxb.dk/upload/minesh.rec

Btw, if anyone has any longer lev, post it here!
I think maybe Bartek's "adventure level" may be longer, but i haven't heard of anyone completing that yet neither...

The longest level was by rez; It took me 18 mins to get through the half of it, then I died.

Yes that's the time I got. The rec naturally ends at 5 mins,
but here it is (nothing special in it though).

Oops, I didn't realise I uploaded it to a temp upload service. Also, the extension was lost when I renamed the level (it contained illegal characters).

Here's a proper link:

I consider looking at this level in the editor a crime...
First, that would ruin all the work BarT put in the level.
Second, that would ruin all my fun of finding the 4 words hidden, plus the satisfaction of finishing the level on my own...
Third, what the fuck does xiit mean ?

xiit = cheat
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

My biggest level is Looking for Apples, which I made about 5 years ago.
Maybe it could have been the biggest level in the world at those times :).
Although there exist bigger ones, this one is huge as well, and still the biggest level which I have ever made.
Here are the urls:

level: http://koti.mbnet.fi/zebra/elma/zlev032.lev
description: http://koti.mbnet.fi/zebra/apples.txt
record table: http://koti.mbnet.fi/zebra/elma.html

Seems that no-one has beat my record (7:16,86)...

Do you think the world class time is possible?
Can you upload the rec?

what do you call a biggest ? just becouse you're flooding the lev with buch of useless pictures and stuff all apples at the start the way you did it doesnt make it "the biggest Level in creation" as you described it. i can make you a 20 sec lev with the same size of a lev file just like yours.

and what's the idea on rating your own levels :? giving a level like this
Fun Factor: 10/10
Hoyl Factor: 10/10
and Design: 10/10
..is somewhat funny lol. it's really a painfull feeling on playing a ground lev with ground3 background and not seing where the heck you're driving becouse of all this pictured abuse :) hmm... hoyl factor is at it's max? by driving all these random bumps, keeping an accuracy on where to fall for not overjumping those islands and that rollercoaster feeling is really somewhat strange on how you rate your own levels. no offence but i think you're overrating your lev a little bit

AKB, you would be a good commentator. but yet you're presently so egocentric. you must open your mind to the possibility of other human beings living this earth, so we can better like you.
