Extract it in you elma directory (where elma.exe is).
Launch alovoltcfg.exe to choose the keys.
Launch alovolt.exe to play elma with alovolt.

There is big flaming on #elma.hu about alovolt.exe :)
I want to see your comments that this is considered cheating or
no... Especially I'm interested in Abula's opinion

99% of the people against this program will be the ones who can make an alovolt whenever they want. I can do alovolts normally, but everybody deserves the opportunity to be able to do the styles. in the end it still comes down to who has the skills.

oh what a cheat program... all the ones who think it´s fair now when everyone can make alovolt, it´s not. it´s the same thing to say " i can´t run 100m in 9.79s, so it´s ok to put on inlines instead so i also can have the wr." life is not fair.

Aloshit...

Post by H2O2Manden »

It's not working for me. =(
I'm suppose to assign the two buttons that I turn on right? And then an extra button that uses the two turn-keys to do the alovolt right??
Nothing happens whatsoever when I hit that key. Not even a regular turn or nothing. =(
Help please!

Hibernatus wrote::arrow: www.first_we_have_to_decide_is_this_illegal_or_not.com
Who decides if it's illegal at the end ? Moposite crew... ?

Anyways I dont understand why it did be illegal. I mean, it's just a normal method combining keys, and the method is very useful in many things, especially for handicapped ppl who cant handle many buttons at the same time.

Someone just got an idea you can use it in elma; and the way it is used by alovolt prog, is a way to finally get back the fair play on this lovely game.
Sure it's somehow a radical change, but why would we not use this ?

I've removed a rare bug. But there's still a problem with Win98/ME. It just doesn't work. I'll fix it as soon as possible.

once again: nice done pilote. :D

why should this be illegal? we allready know that some of us can do this trick easily while others do have problem, not cause of their skills (maybe some n00bs :)) but cause of their comp or keyboard. and this prog make all that disappear, and once again we all have the same elma possiblities.

and about not making it legal or not: it has to be legal cause some will still use it to make recs while others actually will stick to the rules and not use it, and we will then make the gape even bigger between kuskis. not good :evil:

and if it's possible to see if people use this prog or not and you make it illegal, there will soon come new versions of the prog that will be more and more difficult to track. :?

so i think the only possible thing to do is legalize it. (not talking of drugs :wink: )

Hmmm... maybe I foreseen the problems that came up, when I refused to write an alovolt tool myself...

All kuskis has the right to do alovolt, regardless of keyboard or any other hardware. If there is a solution to do alovolt without buying new HW, why should we stick to trying alovolt on keyboards that do not allow it? If everyone will use this tool, the game is fair. Now it's not...

obviously abula decides if moposite and wr lists will accept this , (tho is it possible to check if this tool is used?) . if it's fair or not , it's like with internals as externals , it changes the game , for some it's advantageous and for some it isn't . since it's been released already it's just stupid to hide it now , now it will definately be unfair .

my opinion is that it's a great tool , it's like an upgrade of elma . just hope it won't cause bugs .

Oki poki, we in Moposite will spread the program via our site so you can call it as a legaled tool.

As ribot said one should think this as an upgrade in elma, cuz it definietly is just like one. After spending hour or two with this upgrade, i found best to keep alov key in [numbad 0]. it's easy to press it with little finger.

where to put it

Post by GuyB »

my keyboard is set up like this

accelerate = numpad 8
brake = numpad 5
left = numpad 4
right = numpad 6
alovolt = numpad 9
turn = space or right ctrl ( uses both, from time to time )

you have the page up and down at hand, and when riding numpad 9 fits good fr alovolt 8)

We have a problem now. Hib disappeared and the program (alovolt.exe) doesn't work under Windows 98 or ME platforms. Is this fair now?

good idea guyb to use 9 on numpad cos u already have the right flip feeling in that finger , and u don't need to be able to use the buttons instantly after eachother (like gas/break)

as Abula said it isn't really fair when the prog doesn't work on 98/me :?

so someone should fix it, at least if Hibernatus is gone for ever. so if someone could fix this, it would be really great, cause for now it isn't fair at all for many kuskis who can't run the prog :(

Damnit! Thanks to all you guys who sent it to me, I appreciate it, but:

1)I don't know what a .rar file is.
2) It doesn't work with my OS.
3) Damn.

I think if someone makes alovolt.exe work on win98 is taking the risk
that dumb people will declare him as cheater... I am already called a cheater by some people on #elma.hu, so I don't want to take the risk, sorry. I have a workaround though, we should ask a non-elma-player programmer to make this program, coz he will not care about elmafreak opinions :D

Hi,
Abula mailed me about something i had to read on mopolauta... :)
I'm sorry but now i don't want to spend any single hour for elma. But if jcl can find back his solution (he forgot how he did, because it was a long time ago), i'll use it in my program and then everybody will be happy because it will work under any Windows.

I guess alovolt thing needs a readme now, so:

Alovolt.exe currently runs under Win2K or XP

1. Extract the contents of the archive to the elma root directory (e.g. C:\Elma\)
2. Run alovoltcfg.exe and config your left and right key and the desired alovolt key.
3. Start Elma with alovolt.exe
4. Enjoy :D

Note that if you have multiple elma executables (nitro etc.), alovolt.exe runs the one called elma.exe

I'm afraid there's no much hope that alovolt.exe will run on Win95/98/ME. I'm trying to find a solution but no success yet. If anything happens, I'll let you know...

"not much hope that alovolt.exe will run on Win95/98/ME"

well then, let's give some people this 'cheat' and just allow it even though it's not even a broad enough patch for everyone to use, sweet :!:

it's kinda too late to change this horrible "cheat" 8O now but if u dont want to change operating system then alavolst can't b that valuable . i think some guys in #across can provide win2k or winxp to those who want it . and maybe it's not less fair now anyway .
